Functional Fitness RWF

ATTENTION: parents

This Summer, Your Athlete Gets Coached.

Many programs give athletes a workout and a set of weights.

We give them something better: a coach who knows their sport, knows their body, and knows exactly what they need to step on the field stronger, faster, and more prepared than ever.

Semi-private athlete training at Functional Fitness is built for serious athletes, Grade 7 and up, who are serious about their performance — and ready to put in the work with an expert in their corner.

Train on your schedule all summer

Two 4-Week Sessions

Athletes are BUSY. We want to offer them freedom to work around their busy schedule to fit in their training.

Times are available at varying times M-F each week - with the flexibility to adjust times as things pop up! Fewer missed sessions - more consistency.

Session 1: June 8 - July 3

Session 2: July 13 - August 7

Athletes who are not in a spring sport are welcome to get started early!

Those not in a fall sport can continue training into the fall!

Train Hard, Play Harder

Level up your game with semi-private athlete training at Functional Fitness.

Expert Coaching — Every Single Session

This is the piece that makes all the difference. At Functional Fitness, a coach is with your athlete every time they train — not watching from across the gym, but actively coaching reps, correcting form, and making sure every session moves them forward.

Our coaches understand athletic development. They know what your athlete's sport demands — and they program accordingly. Your kid isn't left to figure out if they're doing it right. They know, because their coach is right there.

A Program Built for Your Athlete's Sport

There's a big difference between a general fitness program and an athletic development program built for a specific sport. We build the latter.

Whether your athlete plays football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, or anything in between — their program reflects the demands of their game. The movements they train, the energy systems they develop, and the physical qualities we prioritize are all tailored to make them a better athlete in their sport.

We fit our program to your athlete. Not the other way around.

Scheduling That Actually Works

Summer is packed — captain's practice, day camps, family vacations, in-season tournaments. Semi-private training is built around flexibility so your athlete can train consistently without sacrificing everything else on their plate.

You're not locked into one time slot. Sessions are scheduled to work for you.

24-Hour Gym Access & Recovery Tools

When your athlete wants to put in extra work on their own, the facility is available 24 hours a day. Because sometimes the best time to train is the time that works for you.

PLUS treat the body right with our infrared-sauna to help muscles recover faster -- from training & games!

Bigger. Faster. Stronger.

Every parent wants their kid to be the athlete who stands out. The one who's quicker off the line, stronger in the post, harder to push off the ball.

The athletes who get there aren't the ones who just play more — they're the ones who train smart. And training smart means having a coach who knows the difference between effort that looks good and work that actually produces results.

That's what we do. Every session, for every athlete, in every sport.

Athletes don't need more games.

They need better preparation - and someone to guide it.

Trained for Your Sport.

Not Just the Gym.

A lot of programs give athletes a general workout and call it athlete training. But there's a real difference between getting fit and becoming a better athlete — and that difference lives in the details.

At Functional Fitness, we don't build generic programs your athlete has to make work for their sport. We build programs around your athlete from the start: their position, their movement patterns, the physical demands of their game, and where they need to improve most.

We also don't just focus on how much your athlete can lift. We develop the qualities that actually show up in competition:

  • Movement quality — so they move efficiently and with control

  • Power production — so they can explode off the line or out of a stance

  • Force absorption — so they can decelerate, change direction, and land safely

  • Strength that transfers — built with intention, not just volume

Being strong matters. But building strength in the right ways, for the right reasons — that's what turns gym work into game performance.

Strong, Safe, Ready.

Here's something parents don't always hear from training programs: the best thing we can do for your athlete isn't just make them faster or stronger. It's keep them healthy.

With a coach watching every rep, your athlete isn't left to push through bad movement patterns or train through warning signs they don't recognize. We catch the things that could become injuries before they do.

When athletes build strength, power, mobility, and endurance the right way — under expert supervision — they perform better and stay on the field longer. That's not a bonus. That's the whole point.

Our job is to give your athlete the foundation to play hard, stay healthy, and keep showing up — all season, every season.

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

Let's dive in!

Question 1: What sets Functional Fitness apart from other training programs?

The coaching. Functional Fitness has been developing athletes for 13+ years, and what separates us isn't just the programming — it's that a knowledgeable coach is with your athlete every time they train. We don't hand athletes a sheet and point them to the weight room. We coach them through every session, adjust their program as they progress, and build training around what their sport actually demands. If you've seen other programs in the area, you know that level of individual attention isn't always standard. Here, it is.

Question 2: How do the two sessions work?

We run two separate 4-week training blocks — one at the start of summer, one leading up to the start of Fall sports. Athletes joining this program will train in both sessions. Athletes not in a Fall sport are welcome to continue training semi-private right into the fall. And if you're not in a Spring sport and want to get started earlier than summer, reach out — we can get your athlete going before the summer block begins.

Question 3: What is the pricing?

Athletes will train 3x/wk each week - if they miss one, there will be make-up times offered for them to maximize their summer. Summer training will be 2 payments of $299.

Question 4: What's required before we start?

Before any athlete trains with us, we collect a complete health history form and take them through an extensive movement assessment. This isn't a test — it's how we get to know how your athlete moves, identify any limitations to be aware of, and make sure their program is built with the full picture. It's one more way we make sure we're training the athlete in front of us, not just running them through a generic protocol.

Question 5: What's the commitment?

We ask athletes to show up consistently — because results come from consistency. That said, we understand summer schedules are unpredictable, and the semi-private format gives us the flexibility to work around travel, camps, and sports conflicts. If a session will be missed, we ask the athlete communicate this with us -- it's time they take the reigns of communication and responsibility of their schedule. If your school schedule doesn't line up with a session start date, reach out and we'll work with you to find a solution.

Question 5: How do we sign up?

There is no online form to sign up. Before anybody starts, we want to sit down and communicate about the athletes' goals, sports & answer any questions you may have. The last thing we want is for you to sign up for something that isn't exactly what you expected it to be.

To get started, complete a the form linked on any of the buttons on this page and we'll be in touch to get the first meeting set!
